Sorka was born and raised in Gridania, and learnt how to channel and control her aether from a young age thanks to her mother's tutelage. The viera enrolled with the Conjurer's Guild as soon as she was able to, and continued to bloom into a well-versed wielder of white magicks as the decades passed.

Her first official employment came from an extended campaign with an Immortal Flames squadron, after which Sorka migrated to Ishgard to join with the Temple Knight Hospitaliers as a full-time medic. There, she honed her skills until they were brought to the attention of the Lord Commander — her prowess with handling severe battle damage would serve the Temple Knights well in combat, and Sorka was officially brought into the Ishgardian military in time for their efforts at reclaiming Ala Mhigo to begin.
